“One-Punch Man” is a Japanese anime series based on the manga of the same name created by One. The story follows Saitama, a superhero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch, hence his name, One-Punch Man. The series is set on a supercontinent Earth where monsters and supervillains threaten humanity, and superheroes are employed by the Hero Association to fight evil. The anime adaptation was produced by Madhouse and J.C.Staff and has two seasons, which were broadcast in Japan from October to December 2015 and from April to July 2019.

Saitama dreams about a subterranean race invading Earth, but when they actually surface, he finds them feeble and defeats their leader, causing the rest to retreat.
EPISODE 2 – “The Lone Cyborg”
A cyborg named Genos is in pursuit of a mutant named Mosquito Girl, who is draining the blood of innocent people in the city. Genos struggles to defeat Mosquito Girl but is saved by Saitama. Later, Saitama agrees to take Genos on as his apprentice. Mutants from the House of Evolution attempt to capture Saitama, with only Armored Gorilla surviving and agreeing to answer the heroes’ questions.

Armored Gorilla tells the story of Doctor Genus, the founding leader of the House of Evolution, who wants to study Saitama’s power and replicate it. Saitama and Genos reach the House of Evolution’s base, and Genus is forced to release his strongest creation, the unstable Carnage Kabuto. After Kabuto effortlessly defeats Genos, Saitama is eager to fight him, but Kabuto cowers upon sensing Saitama’s limitless power. Saitama finally explains the secret to his strength – a simple workout regimen, much to the astonishment of Genos and Genus.
EPISODE 4 – “The Modern Ninja”
The hard-headed criminal Hammerhead forms the Paradises terrorist cell to demand free goods for the unemployed, targeting local business magnate Zeniru using stolen enhancement suits. Hammerhead’s men are taken out by Zeniru’s hired ninja Speed-o’-Sound Sonic. Hammerhead flees and runs into Saitama, who clarifies his lack of association with Paradise. Saitama easily defeats Hammerhead but lets him live.
EPISODE 5 – “The Ultimate Master”
Saitama and Genos pass the Hero Association exam, with Genos ranking in S-Class and Saitama in C-Class. Saitama impresses by breaking records in the physical portion but fares poorly in other areas. During a seminar, Snek tries to challenge Saitama but is easily defeated. Genos asks Saitama to spar seriously, but Saitama outclasses him effortlessly. Amai Mask warns Genos to take his responsibilities seriously. Genos moves in with Saitama.
EPISODE 6 – “The Terrifying City”
Saitama mentors Genos and rushes to fight a villain. Sonic demands a fight, but Saitama refuses. Tank-Top Tiger tries to steal credit, and Sonic causes chaos to force a fight. EPISODE 7 – “The Ultimate Disciple”
Scientists and astronomers study a meteorite heading towards City Z. S-Class heroes try to intercept it, but only Genos and an aged hero named Bang arrive. Genos fails to evacuate the city in time and uses a prototype weapon against the meteor, which also fails. Saitama arrives and destroys the meteor with zero casualties. The next day, Saitama’s rank jumps to 5th. Tanktop Tiger accuses Saitama of stealing credit and rallies a mob against him.
EPISODE 8 – “The Deep Sea King”
The Seafolk Tribe has openly declared war on humanity. On his way home, Saitama easily kills an octopus-like monster. However, Mumen Rider arrives late at the scene and only sees the destroyed body of the creature, while hearing the crowd talking about Saitama’s involvement. Stinger attempts to challenge the Seafolk monsters with his powerful Bamboo Shoot weapon but is bested by the Seafolk leader. Saitama, Genos, and Mumen Rider all set off to confront the threat. Despite the efforts of various other heroes, Deep Sea King remains unbeaten.
EPISODE 9 – “Unyielding Justice”
Genos initially has the upper hand in a battle against the Deep Sea King but loses an arm and is badly damaged while protecting a child. Mumen Rider tries to fight but fails, and Saitama arrives just in time to defeat the Deep Sea King with one punch. Saitama downplays his victory to restore faith in other heroes. Later, Saitama and Genos receive fan mail, and Saitama is promoted to 101st Rank, B-class.
EPISODE 10 – “Unparalleled Peril”
The Ancient King of the Terror Lizard Clan was defeated by Tatsumaki. Bang informed Saitama and Genos about his former student, Garou, defeating his top students. An emergency meeting of all S-Class heroes was called, revealing the death of the seer Madame Shibabawa and a warning of extreme danger. The Skyfolk led by Sky King attacked the HQ but were defeated by Melzalgald of the Dark Matter Thieves. Saitama encountered the alien ship and entered it. The S-Class heroes planned to bring down the ship, and Genos informed them that Saitama had entered the ship and slain many aliens. Saitama encountered and instantly slew Goribas, a powerful alien, and found Boros on his throne.
EPISODE 11 – “The Dominator of the Universe”
Geryuganshoop complains about Groribas’ defeat and informs Boros that the ship is damaged. Puri Puri Prisoner’s efforts are futile as Melzargard regenerates. Heroes team up and attack Melzargard. Saitama finds and kills Geryuganshoop. Tatsumaki stops a bombardment and redirects it back to the ship. Other heroes join the battle.
EPISODE 12 – “The Strongest Hero”
Boros and Saitama have an intense battle, causing extensive damage to the spaceship. Saitama is kicked to the moon but returns to Earth and defeats Boros with a “Serious Punch.” After the fight, tensions rise between the heroes, and the Hero Association HQ is rebuilt using parts salvaged from the alien spacecraft. In a post-credits scene, Saitama defeats Pluton with a single punch.
