The episode kicks off with Kazuma rereading his invitation from Princess Iris, fantasizing about the potential outcomes. Darkness, dressed in a revealing maid outfit, begs him to reconsider the meeting, but Kazuma dismisses her concerns. After changing, Kazuma and Darkness head into town, joined by Megumin and Aqua. Kazuma mentions needing to wrap up a deal before meeting the princess. It’s revealed that Kazuma created lighters for Wiz to sell in her shop.
Kazuma tries to charge Aqua for a lighter, pointing out her lack of contribution to their creation. Offended, Aqua performs street tricks with her Goddess powers, forgetting her initial intent to promote the lighters. Vanir arrives, reprimanding Aqua for performing in front of the store. Wiz intervenes, demonstrating the lighters to the crowd, which quickly lines up to buy them. Vanir teases Kazuma about his anxiety over his relationship with Megumin, prompting Kazuma to lash out.
Vanir informs Kazuma that his 300 million eris cut from the lighter sales will be ready soon. Kazuma prepares for his meeting with Princess Iris at the mansion, becoming worried when he sees Megumin and the others planning. Darkness enters, looking regal and formal, surprising everyone. Aqua and Megumin eventually manage to put together formal outfits.
Upon meeting Princess Iris, Kazuma is smitten by her beauty. Darkness tries to maintain order, but the group’s behavior causes a scene. Despite the chaos, Iris allows them to stay, impressed by Aqua’s sand drawing. Iris asks Kazuma how he defeated Mitsurugi, leading him to tell embellished tales of his adventures.
The princess’s guard demands to inspect Kazuma’s adventurer card, causing him concern due to inconsistencies. Megumin attempts to change the subject, but Iris and her guard press on, suspecting Kazuma of lying. A confrontation ensues, with Darkness intervening to prevent further issues. Iris dismisses the group after an insult, but Darkness defends Kazuma’s integrity, even slapping the princess to make her point.
Kazuma demonstrates his Steal skill on Iris’s knight Claire, accidentally taking her underwear instead of her sword. The groups apologize to each other, with Iris expressing regret for doubting Kazuma. The episode concludes with Iris abducting Kazuma and taking him to the Royal Capital.
